Widgets.. Widgets.. & More Widgets!

Just a little tip for all MAC OS X 10.4 (Tiger) users... Dashboard Widgets use a lot of your memory. You think cause they are tiny looking 'eyecandy plug-ins' some useful some not that they would be harmless. Believe me they are NOT! -- Widgets = 4.5/10 (Memory hoggs)

OK, Now for all you MAC users reading this... I know that you all just think I'm a MAC HATA, but really that is not the case. I will admit I wasn't the happiest when I heard the news about that change over (WIN-to-MAC) but then I started getting a little curious/excited about the iMAC G5 that was on it's way. ...Got it all started up and It was very impressive 'looking'.

Now... to the rant, I have been trying to work in Adobe Photoshop all week and it has been 'unexpectedly quitted' for most of the times or just doesn't even open for the rest of the time.

'Toothless' Tiger!

Hey everyone! So, It's been a week now and 'Boy, Do I have a new blog entry for ya' :) My first rant about this new 'very expensive' machine I have been working on is all about 'Multitasking'. For you MAC OS X users, I'm sure you don't know the meaning of this simple word. Here it is from dictionary.com

So.. to make a long blog entry short - for years on the Windows Operating Systems I had no problem doing just that! But unfortunately I have being very annoyed with Apple's 'so-called' multitasking. I usually can have about 10+ programs running at the same with no delays switching program to program seamlessly. Not like the MACs 4+ (if your lucky). Needless to say my productivity hasn't really been boosted with Tiger.

New Workstation!

Introduction

Hello Reader,
I assume you know me since you're at this site, but if you are here from pure luck I guess I will introduce myself. The name is Johnnie Riegert. I am a full time graphic designer at a small multimedia production house in Brantford, Ontario Canada. I have been working in this field for 6-7 years now. Most computers in this place are running Mac OS (Operatings Systems), but not I. I have been working on the Windows Operating Systems all my carrer -- Until Now! Just recently my workplace started changing things around here a little bit... from getting new Employees.. to new Computers. Yes, If you haven't guessed yet, I am now on a Mac OS running Tiger for 8 hours a day... 5 days a week. Now! to the point (the reason you are here in the first place). What is this place all about? -Well I just told you, This place is going to be a place for me to post, share, cry... all about my experiences of being a MAC NEWBIE. All the things I learn... enjoy... likes... dislikes... etc. will be posted here for all to see. -- So, I hope you enjoy sharing my iMAC Exepiences and comment on somethings... or just say Hi and introduce yourself to me.
